OUR MISSION

Our primary objective at 208 Fight & Fitness is to provide the absolute best instruction possible in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment suitable for your entire family. We want to spread health and happiness to each and every one of our members as well as improved physical fitness, mental clarity, and razor sharp focus through regular training in the martial arts.

OUR CULTURE

The Martial Artist culture is incredibly important to us at 208 Fight & Fitness.  We are not in the business of “training fighters”.  Our goal is to help each individual improve themselves both mentally and physically through Martial Arts training.  While Martial Arts may be an individual journey, we’ve created a team atmosphere of like minded individuals cooperating together to reach common goals.

We believe that being a true Martial Artist will always make you a Fighter in life, but being a “Fighter” in sport does not make you a Martial Artist.  The difference between the two lies within the person themselves.  A Martial Artist treats every day as if it were their last, is always mindful of others, has the utmost respect for all things and people, and always puts forth their best effort in a constant effort to better themselves daily.  A Martial Artist doesn’t seek to amass hundreds of techniques, but to fully understand a handful of concepts and be able to apply them to either martial studies or day to day living.

Through sharing these beliefs, we’ve managed to create a cooperative learning culture amongst our members, where the focus lies on not just the improvement of one individual, but the strengthening of the unit as a whole.  It is often said among trainers “it takes a whole village to make one warrior” and this is a motto that we hold very near and dear to us.

Every member of 208 Jiu Jitsu & Kickboxing regardless of age, gender, experience, instructor or student, casual practitioner or professional, is a necessary cog in the wheel on the road to success and treated with an equal level of respect and importance.
